    • Author: GaboxRox15
    • Hack Off: Crystal
    • Language: English
    • Released on: November 25, 2025
    • Latest Version: v1.0
    • Status: Completed

    Description

Pokemon Deluxe Crystal is an enhanced reinterpretation of the beloved third entry of Generation 2. It maintains the classic storyline of the original Pokémon Crystal: traveling across Johto and Kanto, challenging Gym Leaders, striving to become the League Champion, and putting a stop to Team Rocket’s schemes.

As an enhancement hack, the narrative remains unchanged, but the overall experience has been refined with a range of quality-of-life improvements. These updates aim to modernize the gameplay, streamline progression, and provide a smoother, more enjoyable adventure while preserving the nostalgic charm of the original game.

    Features

    • Gen 6 experience system (Exp. Share is Key Item that can be turned ON/OFF like in Pokemon X/Y; you can also gain EXP from catching Pokemon)
    • Added a Move Reminder (found in the same location as the Move Deleter)
    • New Key Item: Pocket PC (You can now manage your party in the overworld)
    • New Battle Item: X Sp Def
    • Unlimited use TMs
    • Access to the Running Shoes from the start of the game
    • Stone evolutions will keep learning new moves after evolving so you don’t have to hold off on evolving them
    • B2W2 Repel System (game will ask you if you want to use another Repel once the current one’s effect wears off)
    • Kurt makes custom Apricorn balls instantly (no need to wait 24 hours in-game, you can turn all your Apricorns into balls instantly)
    • Speaking of Apricorns, the fruit trees which you can get them from can now yield multiple Apricorns (up to 5)
    • HMs and other field moves can now be used as long as at least ONE Pokemon in your party CAN LEARN the move AND you have obtained the corresponding TM/HM (TL/DR: no more HM slaves)

    IN-GAME CHANGES:

    • Updated wild Pokemon encounters (All 251 Pokemon are obtainable, including Gen 1 starters, fossils and legendaries; some exclusive mons are only available via in-game trade/Game Corner prizes, and static encounters have been added for legendaries)
    • Game Corner prizes have been updated (this includes the aforementioned prize Pokemon)
    • Updated teams for all Gym Leaders, Elite Four, Champion, Team Rocket and even route trainers to better fit their theme/aesthetic
    • Progressive level curve (there are no massive level spikes, but the trainers’ levels will keep rising up as you progress through the game to keep you on your toes)
    • Updated Pokemon moves, level up movesets, TM learnsets, Egg Moves, Egg Groups, base stats and evolution methods (most Pokemon will now have access to moves they couldn’t learn in Gen 2; evolution methods have also been updated to ensure all 251 Pokemon are obtainable without the need of trading)

    OTHER MISCELLANEOUS CHANGES:

    • Updated party menu icons + overworld sprites (every Pokemon now has their own sprite)
    • Updated Pokemon status page by adding a section where you can see the time and place it was caught
    • All 16 Gym Badges are now shown with their proper colors when you look at the trainer card section
    • Pokeball colors have been updated to match their actual canon coloring
    • Pokemon no longer lose HP from poison in the overworld
    • Added a new text scrolling speed to allow for faster dialogue skipping
    • Nurse Joy heals your party at the PokeCenter faster
    • Faster in-game save speed
    • Reduced the constant low HP beeping noise during battle to just a short beep (similar to Gen 8 onwards)
    • Miscellaneous dialogue changes (this includes some in-battle dialogue)
