Description
“Pokemon Enduring Emerald” is a game modification that replaces the wild and trainer Pokemon in Hoenn with mostly Kanto Pokemon and a few from Johto. Now, the regional Pokédex includes 175 Pokemon, all of which can be caught except the starters. You can choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as your starter, and you’ll save Professor Birch from a Nidoran instead of a Zigzagoon.
This hack aims to blend elements from Emerald’s past and future to create a new but familiar experience for fans of Generation 3 games. I used the pret’s pokeemerald decomp as the foundation and thoroughly tested my changes in multiple emulators to ensure there are no major bugs.
Note: This isn’t designed to be a difficult hack, but the bosses are slightly tougher because it’s easier to gain XP. The first four gyms have Pokemon that are one level higher, and the last four gyms, the Elite Four, and the champion have Pokemon that are two levels higher. Even with these adjustments, you won’t face any Pokemon above level 60 before the postgame.
