Description
Hey everyone! Looking for a fresh take on Pokemon Gen 3? Pokemon FireRed OK Version is an enhancement ROM hack that improves Pokemon learnsets, trainer teams, overworld items, and more. The goal is to make every Pokemon more viable while offering a slightly tougher challenge. If you’re interested in a more balanced and engaging experience in Kanto, check it out!
Features
- Gym Leader and Elite Four teams have been slightly buffed — not overly difficult, similar to Challenge Mode in BW2
- Trainer battles across the region have been rebalanced for more variety in Pokemon usage
- Encounter tables have been updated to improve Pokemon diversity throughout the game
- Learnsets for all Pokemon have been revised and enhanced
- Some Pokemon have received type changes to improve balance and viability
- Pokemon with evolutions introduced after Gen 3 (e.g., Tangela, Primeape) have received stat buffs
- All official stat buffs introduced by Game Freak in later gens are applied
- Moves have been updated with modern effects and power (with some exceptions, like Rock Smash remaining 40 BP)
- Rare Candies are available in all Poke Marts for just 1 Pokedollar, making leveling easier
- Evolution Stones and TMs are now available in the Celadon Department Store
- Rod locations have been adjusted — the Old Rod is now available in Viridian City
- Trade-evolved Pokemon now evolve using a new item: the Link Cable (includes cross-gen evolutions like Steelix and Kingdra)
- Only the original 151 Pokemon and their cross-gen evolutions are catchable before the postgame
- The Link Cable can be found twice in the overworld and is also purchasable on Two Island
- Several overworld areas have been visually updated to add variety to the region
- Natures now clearly indicate their effects in-game
- Gym Leaders now reward 3 copies of their respective TMs (except Giovanni… because he’s evil)
- Lt. Surge’s infamous gym puzzle has been removed
- The free Magikarp before Mt. Moon has been removed
- Starters and Eevee are available in the Sevii Islands
- And more!
What’s new – Changelog v1.4
- A few changes to movesets across the board
- A few trainers have received harder fights (namely Brock)
- A few changes to encounter tables across the board
- Victory road trainers will actually challenge you now
