What is Pokemon Colors?
Pokemon Colors is a unique reimagining of the classic Pokemon formula, built around a simple idea: what if a Pokemon’s type was based on its color?
In this game, every Pokemon’s type has been changed according to its sprite from Pokemon LeafGreen. Along with new typings, many Pokemon have updated movepools and, in some cases, different abilities to better suit their new roles.
The game also features the physical-special split, significantly reworked Pokemon stats, altered wild encounters, and revamped trainer battles—offering a fresh and distinctive Pokemon experience.
To make the world feel more alive, many NPCs now have brand-new, fun dialogue, adding extra charm and personality to the game.
About the Game
Pokemon Colors is built to give you a fresh and fun experience, even if you’ve played the originals before. Most of the Pokemon in the game can be found and caught before the Elite 4, thanks to fully updated encounter tables.
Trainer battles have also been revamped. You’ll see Pokemon from Generations 2 and 3 in almost every fight, and boss battles are tougher with more interesting team setups. The idea is to keep battles feeling new and exciting, whether you’re playing for fun or looking for a challenge.
The game is made to be enjoyable for both casual players and those who want a bit more difficulty.
Everything is well-documented too:
- Which Pokemon appear where
- What changes each one got
- Full details on every trainer battle
If you’re into Nuzlocke runs, there’s even a damage calculator built specifically for this game, plus a guide to help you use it (you’ll find it in the Google Drive).
Some Pokemon also got stat boosts to help them stand out or better match their typing. But don’t worry—everything’s balanced so no one Pokemon ends up being overpowered.
For players who prefer a more classic experience, there’s also a “Classic Mode.” This mode removes all the stat changes while keeping the rest of the game the same—kind of like what you see in Drayano’s ROM hacks.
