Description
This project focuses on enhancing the original Black and White games, which have historically received less attention and support, particularly in terms of modding tools. The goal is to update and improve the experience of these earlier titles while maintaining consistency with their sequels.
This hack does not incorporate features introduced in later generations (e.g., Fairy type, Repel prompt). However, it follows a similar design philosophy to previous projects like the Platinum hack. Referred to as “Vanilla++”, this version aims to stay close to the base game while adding a significant number of buffs and adjustments. Changes include updated move sets, stat boosts, and type reassignments, primarily to expand strategic variety and improve type distribution. Many of these updates draw inspiration from later generations.
Features
New Pokemon (Gens 1–4): About 60 new fully-evolved Pokemon added, with good type variety. Most weren’t in Black 2/White 2. A few return due to late availability or being unpopular. And yes, Mr. Craw is here.
Type, Ability, and Stat Tweaks: Many Pokemon now have better or hidden abilities. Some have stat changes to improve balance or offer new playstyles.
Earlier Access to Late-Game Pokemon: Pokemon like Pawniard, Rufflet, and Vullaby are now available between Burgh and Clay. Great for Eviolite users.
Easier Evolutions: High evolution requirements are lowered. Pokemon now evolve earlier to stay useful throughout the game.
New and Buffed Moves: Moves like Power-Up Punch, Mystical Fire, and Phantom Force have been added. Others like Rock Smash and Mirror Move have new effects.
New Areas and Encounters: Some areas renamed with new encounter tables. Dreamyard is open early for more variety in Nuzlockes.
More Held Items: Postgame items like Leftovers are now available earlier.
Wild Legendaries: Some legendaries appear in the wild and are nerfed. Many come from trios, so you may find one in a Nuzlocke.
Move Relearner Buff: Fully evolved Pokemon get useful egg/tutor moves at level 1. More Heart Scales are available early.
XP Curve + Soft Level Caps: XP system is reworked. Less grind, faster early levels, slower near level caps. Max level is 64. Audino gives more XP.
Boss Battles: Boss teams are slightly upgraded but fair. They usually keep 2+ original members. Items start showing up slowly—Drayden has a fully-itemed team.
Challenger’s Cave: Now a tough, high-reward dungeon before the endgame. Trainers are level 64 with growing teams. Rewards include top-tier moves and items.
Note: This hack is currently in open beta. Although it has undergone extensive playtesting, there may still be unresolved issues. Users are encouraged to report any problems they encounter. Minor issues, primarily related to text, are known but do not significantly affect gameplay for those who consult the documentation or Bulbapedia.
Known Bugs
- Thunder Dive (Supercell Slam) does not give recoil if it misses. I am getting help with this. Please report any moves that are missing a vital function.
